I love the immersive quality of books, how you can truly live inside a moment in a book, and feel disconnected by the occurrences outside the pages. One day, in thinking about this, I made a note that said, “a house that turns into a book”. I struggled until I found a structure that one could actually “step inside”. The whole process of opening the box that houses the book, with all of its components, is not unlike building some kind of esoteric Ikea furniture, and with the script it comes with, directs a specific experience for the viewer/reader.
